The Opposite of Love

It used to be said that the opposite of Love was Hate.

Then it was said that the opposite of Love was Indifference.

As I journey down the road, it seems increasingly clear to me that the opposite of Love is Judgment: the form of judgment that labels and condemns.

Love is about building up - Judgment is about tearing down.

Love seeks your renewal - Judgment seeks your destruction (and above all, your self-destruction).

Love seeks to redeem - Judgment condemns.

Love is kind - Judgment is harsh.

Love is patient - Judgment is quick to find fault.

Love keeps no record of wrong - Judgment is all about the record.

Love does not insist on it's own way - Judgment insists on being right (at the expense of just about anything else).

Love creates the opportunity for healing - Judgment signals it's end.

Love is about Grace - Judgment is about, well, Judgment.

When Judgment enters, Love is cut off.
