Since beginning my clinical work in 1991, I have worked with a broad array of client populations and presenting issues. With a constant focus toward the integration of psychology and the journey of faith, I have sought to identify the core psychological issues presented in Scripture and apply that truth to the struggles my clients are facing today. It's not just about telling people what the Bible says, it's about helping them understand it in an experiential and relational context: "What does it mean for me today, right now, in my marriage, at school, at work, and with my family?" The core message of Scripture and Christian Theology is that "God so Loved..." It is a message of Grace, Forgiveness, and Acceptance, and these are the ingredients of genuine Healing.

As I have worked with clients it has become clear to me that core issues of Trust, Acceptance, Interdependence, Boundaries, Responsibility, Accountability, and learning how to Forgive, are key factors related to one's mental health. Current research on Brain Function also sheds light on an array of mental health issues, and in many ways aligns with principles of human psychology found in Scripture. Putting these things together, and understanding them as a whole, facilitates insight, understanding, improved self-control, and greater fulfillment in life: Spiritual Growth.

Learning to Love Well and Live Abundantly requires that I identify and root out the beliefs and behaviors that lead me in circles, or to a dead-end. We have to also learn new beliefs and behaviors which are consistent with The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
